Finance Manager/Accountant in London, UK

Our client a very well established commodity trading business with offices in London is seeking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager/Accountant for their London offices.


The ideal Candidate
  • 5 – 10 years post qualified experience in a similar role
  • Ideally a background in asset, investment, fund management or similar
  • A commercially focused finance professional, ideally someone who is a CCAB qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent.
  • You have helped to lead culture change and business transformation processes and you can demonstrate resilience to pressures, challenges and unexpected situations.
  • You are an individual of the highest integrity, who works well in a team, yet is not afraid to take a challenging stance based on good business data and experience. 
  • You have energy and drive to get out and about in the business and hands-on to work with the team to understand and add value to business activities.
Job Description
  • Reporting directly to the Directors the role will encompass the management of the finance team and will require significant stakeholder management experience to support the organisation.
  • A key focus of the role will be to produce and manage the production of financial and management information in addition to all administration aspects of the Company Full P & L, financial and management accounts creation and responsibility.
  • Responsibility for the management of the finance team.
  • Investment and fund management.
  • Formulation and ensuring implementation of credit control policy.
  • Produce weekly KPI data.
  • Budgeting for, reporting and monitoring capital expenditure; plan vs. actual.
  • Responsibility for systems and management/financial reporting and will involve current operational review and recommendations for system evolution. Conduct an internal audit of processes and systems, financial controls, budgeting, financial reports and accounting documents currently in use.
  • Responsibility for full liaison with audit partners.
  • Insurances and Risk management.
  • Leading and managing the budget process to include preparation and presentation of the annual budgets.
  • Review of current financial reports and accounting documents.
  • Working with the board in formulating strategy and long term plans.
